Ship propeller jets
The NH-JET model provide s possibilities to simulate washing out of the sediments from the bank slopes and bottom under the influence of the vessels propeller generated turbulent flow. This task is important for harbors, channels and ferry terminals. The hydrodynamic part of the model is based on recently developed UCEWP new non-hydrostatic model of free-surface flow (Kanarska, Maderich, 2003; 2005). Within the project, it is improved and linked with a 3-D extension of the CHEWP-LAGR model for sediment transport and erosion. The model describes propeller jet flows in the near and far field. This model includes, newly developed by UCEWP 3D, comprehensive non-hydrostatic sub-model (Kanarska, Maderich, 2003) and 3-D extension of CHEWP-LAGR model for sediment transport and erosion.
